Let's Talk Mental Health
Our Story
Committed to Helping People
Let's Talk Mental Health is a student-run non-profit organization founded and run by high-school students from Claremont, California. After seeing how deeply issues of depression and anxiety have affected our peers leading to increased drug abuse, self-harm, and suicide, we decided to launch Let's Talk Mental Health to combat the growing mental health crisis. Students are among one of the largest groups who struggle with mental health, with 1 in 4 students reporting a persistent feeling of sadness and 1 in 10 students attempting suicide. The current lack of resources and stigma surrounding seeking mental health support has worsened the mental health epidemic amongst youth especially. Through seminars, events, and uplifting the stories of those who struggle with mental illness, we aim to break the stigma surrounding the topic of mental health and empower youth to prioritize their own mental health. We are committed to begin the conversation around mental health and ensure that education and resources are readily available to youth. Our goal is to become the generation that makes a change in the mental health crisis.
